Popular Culture Review welcomes compelling, well-argued, and well-researched articles on popular culture both past and present. We seek to publish research on traditional as well as on emerging forms of popular culture and encourage submissions on underrepresented areas within our field. We publish articles within the journal’s scope on a continuous basis, meaning that journal articles are published directly into an online issue with their final citations as soon as they are ready.
We invite contributions on, but certainly not limited to, popular culture in relation to:
- Cinema
- Television
- Literature
- Video games
- Music
- Art
- Comics
- Fashion
- Social media
- Photography
- Historical re-enactment
- Culinary media
- Radio
- Podcasts
Early career and established scholars who study popular culture at novel interfaces are also encouraged to submit. Not in the least popular culture in relation to our research priority areas: food, globalisation, postcolonialism, non-Western contexts, and cultural memory.
Popular Culture Review aims to be a comprehensive journal that covers the breadth of existing popular culture, while remaining rigorous in that we publish research that clearly defines how it contributes to the field of popular culture studies.
We would love to read what you are working on so please do visit our website to read the author guidelines or contact our Editorial Office ([email protected]) for help with submissions. We also welcome proposals for guest edited special issues that fit within the scope of our journal. You may contact the Editor-in-Chief Dr Arnoud Arps ([email protected]) in regard to this.
